Olympia First Baptist Church

Church Choir every Thursday at 700pm 

If you've been wanting to make beautiful music and all you need is someone to accompany you...then the choir, Will and Dan are waiting for you! If you're looking for a group of folks who will treat you like family... the choir, Will and Dan are waiting for you!

If you want to have fun on Thursday nights (you've heard the songs we sing!)... the choir, Will and Dan are waiting for you! If you're thinking, "Well, that might be fun and I do sound pretty good in the shower, but I don't read music"... the choir, Will and Dan are waiting for you! Please, join us as we start the 2015/2016 choir season: on September 10 on Thursday nights at 700pm.  Hope to see you there.   

      ​                                        THurston Co  jail Ministry

                                              First Baptist is one of 10 Faith Communities that take 

.                                             part in this ministry.  Each team visits the jail once a 

​                                              quarter, meeting 4 times within a 2 week period.

                                              Meetings include Bible Study, prayer, music, devotions

      and testimonies.  A volunteer jail chaplain supports the team when they visit.

      Volunteers receive training and orientation prior to participation.  For more information,

Emmaus House   gathering Saturdays at 630pm

Emmaus House is holistic missional House-Church, located at 216 10th St SE, in Olympia, WA and is an extension of the ministry of Olympia First Baptist Church.  Emmaus is a community seeking to live out the love of God in the way of Jesus.  The folks who make up Emmaus are from varied backgrounds and hold a wide-range of perspectives.  All are welcome. 

Missionary Support   

First Baptist supports Mylinda Baits in Missionary Service.​ She is a regional missionary with particular focus in issues

of human trafficking in the Iberoamerica-Caribbean region.

For over 12 years, Mylinda and her husband Gary served in Costa Rica.  Having witnessed first hand, the sexual tourism industry, Mylinda now works to prevent and eradicate this modern day slave trade. She travels extensively throughout Latin America. 

God's Little Blessings

This knitting group creates caps for premature babies born at Tacoma General Hospital and at St Peter Hospital in Olympia.  Over the last 4 years, they have made 6000 caps for new born babies.

Missions

Each year 4 major Mission Outreach offerings are taken: Retired Ministers and Missionaries  One Great Hour of Sharing, America for Christ, and The World Fellowship Offering.    

American Baptist Women's Ministries (ABWM)

This group meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month (September - June) for a sack lunch, a business meeting and a program.  With a strong emphasis on missions,

ABWM supports local and international mission work

of the denomination, a local Baptist camp, the church Youth Group and other church related ministries. 

Table Grace - Feeding Ministry

Table Grace, formerly known the Feeding Ministry, meets every Sunday at 4pm.  Faith Communities and Local Groups provide a free dinner for the needy in our area. This is a community enhanced ministry, supported by a wide range of churches, service clubs and individuals.  Table Grace has served the "least-of-these" in our community for over 20 years. If you are interested in helping as a volunteer, please contact Pastor Mark or Freda Spaulding, Table Grace's Volunteer Coordinator.
